Enjoy this highlight video from the amazing Bar Mitzvah we had in camp!
What an awesome reunion camp just had. It was totally awesome to get back into the fun and Chassidishe atmosphere of camp for an hour and a half. It was really awesome to see so many campers and staff members. Though, it would have been nice if Michel Minkowitz would have come. I guess Moshe Caytak was busy. Mazel Tov Moshe!!! Thank you so much to Berel and the whole team at Winter (becoming spring) Camp for putting this together.
In other news, Mivtza Ois Bsefer Torah is wrapping up. Congratulations to all those that participated and brought the Rebbe Nachas, and congrats to Menny Blasberg and Meir Itkin on your raffle wins. Though if you still didn’t sign up 18 people to get a letter, you have until Shabbos to do so and receive an exquisite leather wallet (for your pocket, duh).
Also upcoming is a new Mivtza to help people celebrate their Yom Huledes. There will be a whole new set of things to do and prizes to receive. Stay tuned in the next few days for details!!!
Thank you so much to Levi Schmerling for putting together the slideshow for the reunion as well as to Mendel Vogel for all of his quality content.
It’s amazing to see everyone putting in the effort to get Yidden to buy Osios Bsefer Torah! There is a little under a week to the grand raffle so Chap Arein. The updated totals are below along with an awesome video from Kehos Litvin. The video is so good that Berel Bendet asked him to come to camp next year as a videographer, though we’re pretty sure he will be busy learning in Yeshiva.
While I have everyone’s attention I would like to take the opportunity to wish Shmuly Wilansky, Kovi Hershkowitz, and Berel Levertov a big Mazel Tov for their Bar Mitzvahs. May the Rebbe give them the Brachos of growing to be a Chossid, Yirei Shamayim and a Lamdan.
I hope everyone had an amazing Purim packed full of Mivtzoyim and Farbrengens (obviously outdoors even though you guys don’t live in Lake Worth). I can tell you that I sure did. The truth is that if there’s one day of the year that reminds me of camp it’s Purim. Maybe that’s why I like Purim so much. There isn’t a day of the year that it’s so enjoyable to do what the Rebbe wants from us and to do Mitzvos with so many Yidden that need our help.
The only Farbrengen the whole year that comes close to Sholem Kalmenson making Kulehs with his Tatty at the Shabbos meal is the Farbrengen on Purim and it’s the only day we get to dress up like a color war play, those were really impressive and entertaining, and it’s all in the Ruach of Shlichus and Chassidishkeit. I was running around on purim giving out Mishloach Manos and I was thinking, since when can I run so fast, and then I reminded myself of being chased around when we played escape from Russia that first night and of all the games we played in Machane Berel’s totally awesome and talented sports league. The megillah is almost as Geshmak to read as a Chassidishe Derher! And when I was setting up for the Purim party I was reminded of setting up for the most memorable and gorgeous Bar Mitzvah in the history of the world.
We got some feedback from some of the campers on Purim and it seems like they all had a phenomenal time, you’ll have to check out the pictures below. A big shoutout to Counselor Michel Minkowitz for going all the way to Texas to visit Camper and legendary speaker Levi Lazaroff!
Another amazing outcome of Purim was a grand total of 82 people joining the Rebbe’s initiative and buying Oisios Bsefer Torah. I want to recognize all of the campers that sold letters so far for their dedication and commitment to the Rebbe’s Inyonim. You can check out where everyone is holding below. I think there is a big raffle coming up next week so make sure to sell as many letters as you can. Chevre, don’t waste any time, start spamming your whole contact list to buy letters! Everyone wants to get one they are just witing for you to give them the opportunity. A major shoutout to Menny Blasberg for selling 50 Osios and we are very excited for someone to outdo him, or for Menny to outdo himself!
Signing off for now,
One of the Staff
I just realized that camp finished a full three weeks ago. But something is weird, I don’t feel like it’s been that long, I feel like camp has never ended. I still feel like I am sitting in my bunkhouse with my bunk, or sitting in the dining room hearing words of inspiration from Zelig Shemtov. I still can’t stop cheering something about pickles, bananas, cream cheese and lox. In fact, last friday I was standing in my room before Shabbos waiting to prank the head staff.
I was thinking what is special about Machane Berel that I feel like I’m still there, and then I realized that camp really never does end. I have been getting emails and messages from my campers and I keep on bumping into everyone in Crown Heights. In fact, we each got our own special journal from the Shluchim office.
About the Journal, it’s so well done. I was only in one bunk, but every single letter (well I guess most of them) is written so well that you didn’t have to be in that bunk to like it. I definitely did feel that the head staff could have written more, but I guess they were tired out from working so hard and needed a break. I hope everyone got theirs by now and is enjoying it as much as I did.
There has also been so much going on with the Bunk Ches and Tes Rambam Shiurim, and Levi Shemtov, Menny Hershkowitz and so many others coming to visit us here in New York. (they’re really coming to the Rebbe, but it’s nice to think that they’re coming to visit us. Also a special shoutout to Shmuel Lashkar on his twentieth birthday! If you didn’t get a chance to wish him a happy birthday yet, it’s not too late.
This brings me to the coolest thing yet, Mivtza Ois Bsefer Torah. I’ve heard from so many campers that they are busy and involved, and I think that’s absolutely Gorgeous! We even received our first submission to the Duch from Leibel Laufer who signed up some kids. Looks like he is going to win all of the amazing prizes currently. If you’re not involved yet, get rolling and if you are, make sure you submit what you’ve done so we can feature you on a post Make sure to get pictures and media!!! The main thing is to keep giving the Rebbe Nachas.
Happy Purim,
One of the staff
